The 2017 Washington Nationals won -- and earned -- the title in Tournament Two, defeating the 2017 Cleveland Indians in six games in the final round.

Max Scherzer outdueled Corey Kluber in the opener in Cleveland's Progressive Field. Scherzer allowed two runs on four hits in eight innings while striking out 11. Francisco Lindor homered to lead off the game for the Tribe, and Lonnie Chisenhall tripled in Jose Ramirez in the fourth to give Cleveland a 2-0 lead. But the Nats scored a run in the fifth, and in the seventh Bryce Harper and Anthony Rendon each had RBI hits off Andrew Miller to put the visitors ahead,

The Nats won Game Two by one run as well. Harper and designated hitter Adam Lind each homered in the first two innings off Carlos Carrasco, and Matt Wieters doubled in a pair in the seventh to give Washington a 4-1 lead. Stephen Strasburg went six innings, allowing one run on seven hits, for the win.

The Nationals took their two-games-to-none advantage home to D.C., and the Indians got back into the series with a 13-inning win in Game Three. The Nats had a 4-1 lead after four innings, but Chisenhall doubled for two runs in the eighth to even the score, and the two bullpens shut things down for the next four innings, until Yan Gomes hit a two-out, two-run homer off Oliver Perez in the 13th. Bryan Shaw threw three scoreless innings for the win.

Cleveland evened the series in Game Four behind a three-run fifth inning that included a costly two-base error by center fielder Michael A. Taylor. Mike Clevenger went 6.2 innings for the win.

The Nats won pivotal Game Five in the highest scoring tilt of the series. Taylor hit a two-run homer to give Washington a 4-0 lead in the fourth, and Lind hit a two-run pinch-hit shot in the seventh after the Indians pulled within two. Zimmerman's double in the seventh gave Washington a 7-3 lead. Enny Romero gave much of that margin away with a three-run gopher ball to Edwin Encarncion in the eighth, but that was the last baserunner the Indians had in the game.

Washington wrapped it up in Cleveland in Game Six. Zimmerman hit a two-run homer in the second and scored three runs overall to back Strasburg, who allowed two earned runs on four hits in seven innings. Brandon Kintzler retired all six men he faced for the save.

The Cleveland bullpen allowed just one run in 13 innings over the six games, and their starters had five quality starts, smothering the Milwaukee offense.

Game One, in Cleveland's Progressive Field, was a marvelous duel between Warren Spahn and Corey Kluber. The sole run of the game came in the third, when Henry Aaron doubled and scored on Joe Adcock's single. Kluber allowed four hits and struck out nine in his complete game loss; Spahn also went the distance, scattering six hits and walking three. Only once, in the ninth inning, did the Tribe get a runner to third, but Spahn popped up Jay Bruce and fanned Brandon Guyer to end it.

Jason Kipnis tripled, doubled and singled in Game Two, driving in three runs and scoring another to support Carlos Carrasco and the bullpen. Carrasco allowed one run on five hits in seven innings, and Bryan Shaw and Cody Allen each threw a 1-2-3 inning in relief.

The series moved to 1961's County Stadium in Milwaukee, and the Tribe opened Game Three with a long two-run first off Bob Buhl that involved just one hit. Buhl walked two and hit a batter, and there was also an error and sac fly involved. Trevor Bauer allowed two runs in 6.1 innings for the win, with Dan Otero, Andrew Miller and Allen splitting the remaining outs.

Spahn evened the series with another complete game win in Game Four. Austin Jackson and Francisco Lindor each hit solo homers for Cleveland, but those came after Josh Tomlin had allowed four runs in five innings.

Kluber was stunning in Game Five, allowing two hits in seven scoreless innings. Michael Brantley's third inning triple was a key blow in a two-run rally off Lew Burdette, and Carlos Santana, who entered in a double switch the inning before, hit a three-run homer in the eighth to blow it open.

Cleveland wrapped up the series with an easy win back home in Game Six. Carlton Willey allowed four runs in 3.2 innings for Milwaukee, and Carrasco allowed plenty of baserunners but no runs in 5.2 innings. Otero got the final out of the sixth inning and worked a perfect seventh, and Miller worked the final two innings, allowing a homer to Eddie Mathews but striking out four.

Cleveland battered Detroit pitching for 12 homers and drew 21 walks in the five games.

The Tigers won the opener in Cleveland's Progressive Field by scoring three runs in the seventh and two more in the ninth. Dick Brown hit a three-run homer in the second inning off Corey Kluber, and Reno Bertoria a go-ahead two-run homer in the seventh off reliever Joe Smith. Bradley Zimmer had two doubles and three RBIs for the Tribe.

Cleveland evened the series in Game Two as Carlos Carrasco allowed one run in 5.1 innings and Zimmer and Edwin Encarncion each drove in a pair of runs. Zimmer and Francisco Lindor each scored twice.

The series shifted to 1961 and Tiger Stadium, where Cleveland made itself at home in Game Three. Yan Gomes' two-run homer in the second gave the Indians a 3-0 lead, and Trevor Bauer allowed just three singles, aa walk and a hit batter in six scoreless innings. Cleveland added five runs in the seventh off three Detroit pitchers, with Jay Bruce and Zimmer each driving in two runs. The Tigers didnt score until a-four-run ninth.

Lonnie Chisenhall hit three homers in Game Four for Cleveland, with the third being the last of a back-to-back-to-back series following homers by Bruce and Encarncion. Mike Clevenger went six scoreless innings for the win, allowing three hits, two walks a a hit batter.

The Indians wrapped it up with another 7-1 rout in Game Five. Corey Kluber yielded a solo homer to Al Kaline in the first inning, but Lindor tied it with his own homer in the third, and the Indians erupted for four runs in the fourth to hand Frank Lary his first and only loss of the tournament. Zimmer and Carlos Santana hit solo homers off the Detroit bullpen. Kluber went six innings, allowing five hits and just the one run.

The only game Arizona ever led during the series was their one win, and that was only for two innings.

Cleveland took an early 2-0 lead in the opener in their home park. Jay Bruce opened the second with a triple off Zach Greinke. Jason Kipnis followed with a double and eventually scored on Bradley Zimmer's fly ball. J.D.Martinez homered in the sixth off Corey Kluber, and the Snakes tied it in the seventh on A.J. Pollock's single. But in the bottom of the seventh, David Peralta turned a Jose Ramirez fly ball into a double and error, allowing Francisco Lindor to score from first base with two outs. Cleveland's late-inning bullpen duo of Andrew Miller and Cody Allen closed the door from there.

Arizona evened the series with an extra inning win in Game Two, scoring a run in the ninth off Allen to tie it and two more in the 10th for the lead. Miller had allowed a pair of inherited runners to score in the seventh.

The series shifted to Arizona for Game Three. Cleveland scored one in the first off Patrick Corbin and three more in the third, with Bruce hitting a two-run homer. The Tribe got 3.1 scoreless innings from relievers Breslow, Dan Otero, Miller and Allen to secure the win.

Mike Clevenger, making his first start of the tournament, allowed one hit in five innings of Game 4. Zimmer hit a two-run homer off Taijan Walker in a four-run fourth, and Clevenger left for a pinch-hitter as Cleveland scored three more runs in the sixth to blow it open.

Kluber was stellar in Game 5, allowing five hits in the complete game shutout while striking out 13. Bruce hit a two-run homer off Greinke in the first and a three-run bomb in the third, while Ramirez doubled and scored in each of his first two at-bats. Arizona had just two runners reach scoring position in the game.

Edwin Encarncion powered Cleveland to a methodical sweep of Kansas City.

Encarncion and Carlos Santana each hit three-run homers in the first two innings of the opener in Progressive Field, chasing Kansas City start Bob Shaw early. Corey Kluber allowed three runs in the first two innings himself, then settled in for four shutout frames. He struck out eight in six innings, and three relievers fanned another four in the final three innings, allowing one run.

Carlos Carrasco and Jim Archer dueled to a 1-1 tie after six innings of Game Two, but the Tribe broke through with three unearned runs in the seventh after a two-out error by Dick Howser. Encarncion had an RBI double in that rally. Andrew Miller picked up the win

The series moved to Kansas City and Memorial Stadium for Game Three. Trevor Bauer and Shaw (working on short rest after his early Game 1 KO) and reliever Ed Rakow dueled to a 2-2 tie after seven. Encarncion, sidelined for lack of a DH in this one, pinch-hit a three-run homer in the top of the eighth  to break that tie, and Francisco Lindor followed with a homer of his own. Miller walked three in the bottom of the ninth but still got the save.

Encarncion started Game Four at first base, which forced Carlos Santana to the bench -- which gave the switch-hitter the chance to provide the big pinch hit. He hit for starter Josh Tomlin with the bases loaded in the third inning against Joe Nuxhall and tripled to highlight a five-run inning. Dan Otero retired all six men he faced in the fourth and fifth to get credit for the win.
