The Cubs won two games late, then crushed the White Sox pitchers early in a pair of road wins for the sweep.

Yoan Moncada got the Sox off to a sweet start, homering off Jon Lester to lead off Game One in Wrigley Field. But Moncada and Tim Anderson were each charged with errors in the bottom of the inning as the Cubs tied the game, and the teams exchanged solo runs in the sixth. Addison Russell singled home the go-ahead run in the bottom of the eighth, and Wade Daivs fanned two in a perfect ninth for the save.

The Sox led Game Two almost the entire way. James Shields held the Cubs hitless through four innings and took a 3-0 lead into the seventh, when Tommy LaStella hit a two-run pinch-hit homer. Kyle Schwarber hit a two-run homer with two outs in the eighth to put the Cubs in front, and Davis again struck out two in the ninth for the save.

The series moved to the South Side, and it was the baddest side of town for the White Sox pitchers. Derrek Holland allowed seven runs on three homers and three doubles in five innings of Game Three, and Mike Pelfrey walked four in allowing three runs in two innings. Jose Abreu homered in the eighth and ninth innings, the latter a grand slam, to make the final score deceptively close.

Game Four wasn't even deceptively close. Russell and Schwarber homered in a four-run second inning, and Schwarber hit a three-run homer in the fourth. Kris Bryant walked five times.
