John bracket: 2019 Milwaukee Brewers defeat 1973 Minnesota Twins in six games

Power Point: The Brewers out homered Minnesota 11-2 in the six games, while three Twins pitchers (Bert Blyleven, Dave Goltz and Joe Decker) notched at least 10 strikeouts.

Game One: Brewers 4, Twins 1: Milwaukee broke a scoreless tie with four runs in the bottom of the sixth off Blyleven. Ryan Braun had a two-run homer and Eric Thames drove in the other two with a single. Zach Davies woked six scoreless innings for the win.

Game Two: Twins 5, Brewers 1: Joe Decker fanned eight men in seven three-hit innings, allowing a solo homer to Thames. Steve Braun scored twice for the Twins.

Game Three: Brewers 10, Twins 0: Mike Moustakas homered in his first two at-bats, and Christian Yelich and Ryan Braun hit back-to back homers in the sixth inning. Adrian Houser scattered six hits over his six innings of work and Drew Pomeranz allowed one hit and two walks in three innings of relief for an unusual save.

Game Four: Twins 5, Brewers 4: Blyleven carred a 5-2 lead into the ninth and almost coughed it up, with a double, two singles and a hit batter adding up to two runs. With the tying run on third, the go-ahead run on first, two outs and Thames due up, Vic Albury entered and got pinch-hitter Jesus Aguilar to ground out.

Game Five: Brewers 9, Twins 4: Minnesota plated four runs in the opening frame, but Milwaukee took the lead in the sixth on a three-run homer by Keston Hiura off reliver Bill Campbell. The Brewers widened the margin in the eighth and ninth by pummelling Goltz and Albury for four runs.

Game Six: Brewers 7, Twins 6: The Brewers scored five runs in the second, getting homers from Thames and Lorenzo Cain, and added two more in the third on a homer by Orlando Arcia. The Twins chipped away, and put a late scare on the Brewers by scoring three runs in the ninth off Josh Hader, all coming after the lefty retired the first two Twins. Hader ultimately retired Larry Hisle to end the series.

Projected rotation: Davies-Lyles-Woodruff-Houser-(Davies)-(Lyle)-(Woodruff). The bullpen will be fully available for the start of the second round.
