Once he left for a pinch hitter, however, the Flashes erupted for five runs in the sixth, including a three-run homer by Jim Bottomley.
The second game was the closest of the three, The Flashes got three solo homers in the first four inning off Gaylord Perry, including a pair of back-to-back shots by Highpockets Kelly and Hank Gowdy in the fourth. Joe Sewell put the Rams in front 5-3 with a three-run double in the bottom f the fourth, but the Flashes retaliated for three runs in the sixth, with Fred Lindstrom capping the inning with a triple. Jack Bentley and Rosy Ryan combined for four innings of one-run relief. Sewell had four RBIs for the game.
The third game was another Fordham rout. Bottomley and Chick Hafey hit back-to-back homers off Red Ruffing in the first inning, and Kelly hit a two-run homer in the eighth. Raymond didn't score off Burleigh Grimes until the ninth; the spitballer went the distance, allowing seven hits and one walk. Bottomley scored three runs and Kelly drove in three for the winners.
