The power was definitely on at Metropolitan Stadium for the second game, as the two teams combined for 12 homers. Reggie Jackson hit three bombs for five RBIs, and Henry Aaron, Jim Wynn and Rico Petrocelli hit two apiece. Aaron and Wynn's were all solo shots, but Petrocelli drove in five runs with his homers, which included a two-run walkoff shot off Mike Marshall, the only batter Marshall faced. .
