Cy Young threw a six-hitter and Joe Kelley's two-out single plated Hugh Duffey in the eighth inning for the only run of the game. Young walked two, struck out three and induced two double plays. Tim Keefe allowed five hits in his eight innings with four walks, four strikeouts and two double plays. 

Agnews 9, Fishermen 5

Tom WIlliams walked six men and hit another in the third and fourth innings, in which he surrendered six runs and effectively the game. Pete Hill's three-run homer in the eighth made the score deceptively close. Tom Seaver went eight innings for the win, giving up six hits but walking five and hitting another. Cesar Cedeno must sit on Days 13 and 14.
