Ben Taylor doubled, homered, scored two runs and drove in a pair, and Home Run Johnson went 5-for-5 with a run, an RBI, a double and two steals.as Bertha moved past Clarissa in the standings. Smokey Joe Williams went the distance for the win despite allowing a three-run homer to Henry Aaron and a solo shot to Sal Bando.
