The game was tied at three through six innings, but the Teddys roughed up Bill Byrd for four runs in the seventh and tagged Dizzy Dismukes for three more in the ninth. Roger Bresnahan hit a leadoff homer in the seventh, and Sam Crawford had a three-run shot in the ninth.

Hilldale pieced together three runs in the first inning of the second game and added solo runs in the second and third innings. Hilldale pounded Joe McGinnity for seven runs in the seventh and eight innings to make things easy for Dick Redding in the late goings.

Buck Leonard hit three homers in the two games; he was 4-for-8 with seven RBIs, four runs, 14 total bases and a walk.
