Tank Carr hit a two-run homer, Jud Wilson a two-run triple and Sam Bankhead also drove in two runs to support Plunk Drake. Drake lived up to his nickname, hitting three Walleye batters and knocking two of them out of the game with injuries. All three Walleyes runs were unearned. Rube Currie inherited an eighth-inning jam and earned the save.
Herons 6, Tourists 5
Oscar Charleston's three-run homer with two outs in the bottom of the ninth capped the Herons' comeback. Big Bill Foster carried a 5-0 lead into the seventh, but Cheney White tripled home a pair of runs in that frame. Rap Dizon's eight-inning triple led to the Herons' third run. And in the ninth, after Louis Santop and White singled off Martin Dihigo, Double Duty Radcliffe entered to retire Willie Wells before Charleston mashed a no-doubt homer.
