Max Manning allowed one earned run in eight innings and Oscar Charleston blew the game open with a ninth-inning grand slam. Rap Dixon hit a two-run homer for the Herons, and Bonnie Serrell drove in three runs and scored a pair. The Walleyes were doubled off third base twice and hit into four double plays.

Conifers 5, Tourists 3
Smoky Joe Williams allowed the first three men he faced to score, but he retired the last 17 hitters and ended up with a complete-game six-hitter. He struck out four and walked none. Dave Malarcher drove in two runs, including the go-ahead run in the seventh, and Charles Blackwell and Hurley McNair each scored twice. The Tourists have lost 11 in a row.
