Day 53 recaps
Walleyes 3, Tourists 2
Art Pennington lived up to his "Superman" nickname with a walk-off two-run homer that clinched the title for the Walleyes. Frank Wickware got his first win of the year with 1.6 innings of scoreless relief, although he needed Willard Brown to gun down Buck Leonard at the plate for the final out of the eighth inning.

Herons 4, Loons 3
Hilton Smith threw four innings of no-hit relief to pick up the win in the season finale. Both teams scrambled their lineups for the game, which did not matter in the standings. It marked the first time Biz Mackey didn't start at catcher for the Loons, and the first start for Dick Seay, who played second base. The Herons sat Heavy Johnson and Red Parnell for the first time and deployed John Donaldson as the designated hitter.
