NY Yankees 3, Washington 1: Herb Pennock held the Senators to eight hits in his complete game victory. Joe Dugan went 3-for-5 with a triple, a double, a run scored and an RBI. Babe Ruth drew four walks, two of them intentional.
NY Yankees 8, NY Giants 5: Bob Meusel's three-run homer in the bottom of the ninth ended the game and the season. Babe Ruth hit a three-run homer in the seventh to put the Yankees ahead, but Billy Southworth hit a two-run bomb in the eighth to even the score. Bob Shawkey picked up his first, and only, win of the season.
