Cy Young allowed just six hits, the last a homer in the ninth by Dale Long. The Legends got three solo homers and had a pair of three-run innings without long balls. Joe Morgan had two sacrifice flies, and Honus Wagner stole third base twice.

Babe Ruth's three-run homer in the third put the Legends ahead to stay. Jose Mendez allowed six hits and one walk in his complete game outing. Ruth and Ted Williams each scored a pair of runs.
Tuesday: Legends 22, 1924 Braves 2

Johnny Bench drove in six runs, Honus Wagner drove in four and Babe Ruth drew five walks in the massacre. Catfish Hunter allowed two runs on six hits. Four Braves pitchers issued 10 walks and hit two batters, the Boston outfield was charged with two errors in an eight-run inning and the Legends totaled 20 hits.
Wednesday: Legends 5, 1969 Indians 3

Dick Ellsworth held the Legends hitless through six innings, but Mike Schmidt led off the seventh with a homer and hit another in the eighth to put the Legends ahead. Lefty Gomez went 8.1 innings, allowing three runs on eight hits, and Hoyt Wilhelm got the final two outs with two on in the ninth.

Henry Aaron drove in five runs on four hits, Willie Mays singled, tripled and doubled twice and Babe Ruth and Ted Williams each scored three times in the rout. Three-Finger Brown held the Tigers to six hits. Every Legends hitter scored at least one run and only Mike Schmidt failed to drive one in.

Vic Willis allowed just three hits in 8.1 innings but also walked five, and left after loading the bases with one out in the ninth, with Rollie Fingers putting out the fire. The Legends twice got back-to-back doubles -- Henry Aaron and Stan Musial in the second inning, Ted Williams and Babe Ruth in the fifth -- and Honus Wagner tripled in the other run.
Saturday: Legends 13, 2009 Pirates 2

Stan Musial hit a grand slam in the Legends' seven-run sixth inning and Whitey Ford allowed two hits and one earned run. The lefty walked four and struck out seven. Honus Wagner had two hits, two steals, two runs, an RBI and a walk. The Legends drew eight walks and had a hit batter to go with their 16 hits.
