Cheney White went 4-for-5 and scored two runs, while Willie Wells scored three times and Rap Dixon piled up three RBIs. Max Manning allowed two earned runs in eight innings, scattering 10 hits.

Martin Dihigo threw a four-hit shutout in his first start since the season opener to outduel Dick Redding. Dobie Moore's fourth inning single plated Buck Leonard for the only run of the game. El Maestro walked three -- two in the ninth inning -- and struck out three -- two in the ninth inning. Only twice, both times with two outs, did the Walleyes get a man into scoring position.
