Frank Warfield drove in three runs with a triple, a sac fly and a squeeze bunt to back up Phil Cockrell and a pair of relievers. Two of the five runs surrendered by losing pitcher Smokey Joe Williams were unearned. Jud Wilson went 5-for-5 but was not involved in any of the Loons' runs.

Tourists 7. Herons 1
Ray Brown threw a seven-hitter and held the Herons scoreless after the first inning. A pair of two-base errors by Willie Wells resulted in four unearned runs for the Tourists. Bill Wright hit a three-run homer in the first, and both Wright and Buck O'Neil scored twice.
