Dick Redding cannonballed his way to a four-hit shutout, pitching around a one-out triple by Buck Leonard in the ninth. The sole run of the game came in the second inning, when Cool Papa Bell doubled home Jelly Gardner, with Jerry Benjamin cutting down T.J. Young at the plate. Ray Brown went all eight innings for the loss.
Conifers 13, Loons 3
Josh Gibson homered and tripled for three RBIs and Newt Joseph went 4-for-4 to power the Conifers to the rout. Smokey Joe Williams shut out the Loons for seven innings before allowing an unearned run in the eighth. Eggie Hensley finished after Williams allowed four straight singles to open the top of the ninth.
