Baltimore 7, NY Yankees 6: The Yankees led 4-0 after two innings and 6-4 after five, but three Baltimore relievers shut them out over the final four innings. Bullet Rogan scored two runs while playing right field before taking the mound for the ninth inning and the save.
Washington 5, NY Yankees 2: Sam Rice cleared the bases in the top of the 15th with a three-run double and By Speece threw six shutout innings of relief for the win. Both center fielders --Whitey Witt for the Yankees and Nemo Liebold for the Senators -- cut down go-ahead runs at the plate in extra innings. Babe Ruth drew four walks, two intentional.
