Joe Kelley, Buck Ewing and King Kelly all homered off Ferguson Jenkins, and Cy Young threw a four-hit shutout to move Clarissa into first place. Young did walk seven and hit a batter, but he kept Hewitt from touching home plate. The Crimsons stole five bases..

Agnews 6, Fishermen 2

Willie Stargell broke up John Donaldson's gem with a three-run homer in the sixth, and Bill Russell and Bobby Bonds hit back to back homers in the seventh. Tom Seaver went the distance, allowing seven hits. Ben Taylor homered and tripled to drive in Bertha's two runs.
