Dick Lundy and Cool Papa Bell each drove in a pair of runs in a six-run top of the fifth that blew the game open for the Walleyes. Cannonball Redding allowed just six hits in eight innings for the win, but he walked seven.

Loons 8, Herons 3
Alejandro Oms hit a two-run homer in the sixth to put the Loons ahead, and pitchers William Bell and Phil Cockrell shut out the previously unbeaten Herons for the final five innings. Oms had three RBIs for the game, and Alex Radcliff and Frank Warfield each scored twice. The Herons left seven men in scoring position.
