The Herons battered Nip Winter and Rube Currie for 11 runs in the second inning, totalling nine singles, a double and two walks. They ran up a five-spot in the fourth. Willie Wells and Rap Dixon each had three RBIs, and every starter except Chaney White scored at least twice. Harry Salmon went the distance for the win, allowing nine hits

The Walleyes, trailing 4-1 at the start of the fifth inning batted around to drive Rube Foster from the game and hit for the cycle in the space of four batters (triple by Bill Monroe, single by John Beckwith, homer by Art Pennington, double by Willard Brown). Leon Day allowed four runs in eight innings on nine hits. Roosevelt Davis allowed an unearned run in the ninth and was credited with the save.
