NY Giants 5, Washington 4 (10 innings): Bill Terry hit a two-run homer in the ninth off Walter Johnson to send the game into extra innings, and Heine Groh singled home Fred Lindstrom in the bottom of the 10th to win it against reliever Allen Russell. Lindstrom led off the 10th with a pinch-hit single and stole second before Groh's one-out hit.
Brooklyn 6, Baltimore 5:
The Robins scored six runs off Andy Cooper in the first two innings, and Bill Doak and two relievers managed to make that stand up. Dutch Reuther inherited a bases-loaded, no-out jam in the eighth and got out of it with two grounders. Zach Wheat drove in three runs, and Andy High drove in two and scored two.
